College Nurse and Doctor
The College retains a qualified nurse who attends on weekdays during term at these times, in Staircase XV, room 2. The nurse also visits those who are confined to their rooms by illness, deals with minor ailments, carries out any treatment that may be prescribed, and also arranges to call one of the College doctors when necessary.
The College doctors hold surgery in room 2 on Staircase XV twice a week during term, at these times.
Banbury Road Medical Centre and the National Health Service (‘NHS’)
The College is associated with the Banbury Road Medical Centre. You can make an appointment here if you are not able to see a doctor in College during the surgery hours.

The Medical Centre has a web page with information about the National Health Service (NHS). It is worth looking at especially for those not familiar with the workings of the NHS and what they are entitled to.
If you have an urgent non-life threatening medical question you can phone the NHS 111 service. NHS 111 provides a 24-hour information helpline staffed by fully trained health advisers, supported by nurses and paramedics. They will ask questions to assess your symptoms and direct you to the appropriate service. Simply free-call 111. For more information visit the NHS 111 website.
Many students have taken advantage of the provisions of StuDental.
Routine, Emergency and Cosmetic treatments are available, but appointments should be made in advance. The dentist offers NHS covered treatments in some circumstances. Others will be charged at private practice rates.
Jesus College students are entitled to free membership to the University Gym on Iffley Road, including free access to the swimming pool. Some fitness classes are also run at the Iffley site for a fee.
