It’s that time of year where we say goodbye to many MCR members, and we wish you all the best for the future, and hope you’ll have fond memories of your time at Jesus, it’s gone quickly but we hope that the friendships formed will last for much longer.
We’re all excited about the new intake of MCR Freshers for next year though, and if that’s you and you are really keen to get involved from day 1 or have questions, then there’s a facebook group up for you – search for Jesus College Oxford MCR Freshers 2012.
In case you fancied some hall food, here are the current arrangements for dining durung the Easter vacation;
Remember, you need to sign up for lunch and dinner by 10am on the day, and it says that you get charged even if you dont turn up (!). This can be done on the intranet ‘Hall sign up’ page.
Breakfast may not be the full English sadly, but there should at least be cereals and toast. I think it varies.
Congratulations to Kat Coyte on becoming the new MCR President for 2012-13!Watch movie online The Transporter Refueled (2015)
There’s still a short amount of time to sign up for the other positions on the commitee. Do come to the Hustings tomorrow evening!
All MCR members should be aware that the college offers Graduate and Writing Up Scholarships each year.
The details and applications for the 2012-13 scholarships can be found in the files linked below.
Is your shelf wonky? Microwave broken? Window painted shut?
Can you feel every spring in your mattress? Is there a worrying burning smell whenever your desk lamp is on? Does your chair creak ominously whenever you sit on it … and it’s not because you’ve been eating too many mince pies?!
If it’s a yes! to any of the above, then be sure to report accommodation faults on-line using the fault reporting system! College respond very quickly to all reported problems (the two or three times I’ve reported something, it’s been fixed within the day). But they can only sort out these problems if they know about them!
Just go to the college intranet, and click on the “accommodation faults” icon to register your problem:
Friday is the official Graduate Welcome Day!
Throughout the day there will be students stationed in the College entrance ready to welcome you and hand to you some key information – most importantly of which is the freshers week timetable (all else is secondary :-).
Every new graduate should come by to pick up their welcome pack.
