New MCR Bikes available
Category : Notices
A message from our President……..
There are now 4 MCR bikes available for use by MCR members, which are positioned on the right hand side of the College bike shed as you go in. There are helmets available in the MCR bunker (in the cupboard at the back, on the right hand side) – please wear these, to ensure your safety and return them after use. We currently have no lights available for use – if any member would like the MCR to purchase lights, then please contact Carina (mcr.secretary) to submit a motion at the next MCR meeting. Until then, the bikes must only be used during daylight hours – the police commonly fine people for cycling at night without lights.
Please go to www.google.com/calendar/ and sign in with:-
Username: mcrbikes and the password that can be found in the email notice or on http://jesusmcr.wordpress.com/resources/facilities/bike-booking/
Select either 7am-2pm or 2pm-9pm by clicking and highlighting the relevant time on your chosen date. In the box that appears, put your name and select the bike that you would like to book from the drop-down menu “Calendar”. A maximum of 2 sessions can be booked in advance by MCR members. Once booked, the keys can be collected and signed out from the lodge.
Conditions of use:
Bookings for MCR bikes must be made in advance using the GoogleCalendar and the keys collected from the Lodge.
Bookings can be made in half-day sessions: 7am-2pm or 2pm-9pm.
A maximum of 2 sessions may be booked in advance per MCR member.
Both the chain and D-lock must be used to secure the bike when not in use.
Any maintenance problems should be reported to the MCR sports rep (mcr.sport-rep).
The bikes must be returned on time and to the College bike shed unless members have booked the use of the bike for the following morning.
These bikes are not intended for heavy use by MCR members that don’t wish to purchase their own bike for regular use.
Failure to comply with these conditions may result in withdrawal of the service from the MCR member concerned.
Finally, I’d just like to particularly thank Ed Owen for all of the time he has spent fixing up these bikes for us. I hope that you will all find these bikes a useful facility.
